As some of us celebrate the return of our offspring to the classroom—and others lament the return to said classroom—today’s writing prompt is called Back to School.
Perhaps you’d like to write from the perspective of a kindergartner—fresh-faced and excited for her very first day of school. Or maybe you’re thinking about a more mature student—a teen’s first day as a senior, with all the excitement and fanfare that comes with his senior year.
You could write from the point of view of a new teacher, interacting with his first class, or a retiring professor, creating their last year’s lesson plans before stepping down from her position. Maybe you want to capture a mom’s point of view as she sends her child out into the great big world for the first time. It’s up to you, so be creative and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
