Welcome to the Write Divas Featured Writing Exercises & Prompts! This week’s writing exercise centers on loss and challenges you to dig deep with your ability to show emotion without using some of the keywords we rely on, such as feel, love, hate, ache, etc. How will you spin the scene? Will your protagonist be angry, or lost, or devoid of feeling? How will you show the depth of loss or anger without using the everyday emotion words? Will your scene focus on narrative or dialogue?
Loss: Write the moment when someone realizes they’ve lost the best thing that ever happened to them, but without using any emotion words such as feel, love, hate, ache, etc.
We hope you enjoy this feature and feel free to share the results of your hard work.
