I’m plotting out a short story right now and I’ve found it difficult to get a good grip on the development of my characters. I tend to be overly descriptive and not keep it simple. Diva Jen wrote a great article on keeping it simple, make sure to check that out, too.
This recommend has a series of links to other articles about character development that can be very helpful as well. If you are struggling with character development like I am, you’ll find ways to map out your characters effectively. Just like the article suggests, characters are what makes the reader care about the book. When you don’t have that, well, you know how that can turn out.
Let us know how you develop characters. We would love to hear from you.
