8 Ways For Self-Published Authors to Rise Above Their Fear of Metadata
by Beth Bacon
Today’s Divas Recommend is “8 Ways For Self-Published Authors to Rise Above Their Fear of Metadata” by Beth Bacon from the Digital Book World website. For some self-published authors, understanding metadata may be the equivalent of understanding quantum physics. And if you do understand quantum physics, you still might be intimidated by creating metadata for your book listing.
So what is metadata all about? As Beth Bacon states in her article:
“Metadata helps your customers find your novel, so you really should love metadata, not fear it. A customer types words into a search engine. If those words line up with the metadata you’ve listed for your book, then your book has a chance of showing up on the customer’s screen. That’s wonderful, not frightening.”
Bacon’s article outlines each aspect of the metadata and offers advice to help author decipher what is needed. If haven’t filled this information out for your books yet or are contemplating whether you should or simply want to check what you did use, give Bacon’s article a looksy. It just might help funnel more buyers to your books!
Now… go write something!
